Starkey Hearing Foundation – Listen Carefully
Listen Carefully piloted a video contest, which challenged middle and high school students to make public service announcements about the importance of hearing protection and help raise awareness among their peers and communities. Over 3,000 students from all 50 states participated in the contest. A teen from Woodbridge High School in Irvine, CA won the Grand Prize. Grammy nominated recording artist Aloe Blacc performed a private concert at their school and Sunday Sol Events was brought on board to manage the event.
To create a secret, full scale “pop up” event – complete with coordination with a local school, local authorities and A-list celebrities to promote learning about how hearing loss effects teens.
- We needed to keep it a secret!
- Last minute venue location – the final results of the contest were only known in weeks before the event.
- Full coordination of all event elements, including coordination with local police, school and the listen carefully team.
- Promote education to teens about permanent hearing loss due to high-volume sounds.
The Takeaway From The Event:
The ability to pull the resources together so quickly and make such a special event for the foundation and the teens was a fantastic challenge. The attendees left feeling like they were a part of something very special. In addition, all participants learned about hearing loss, which effects 1 in 6 teens due to high-volume sounds.
The Client Says:
“It was a great experience working with you and the event (per our staff, students, parents and school) was absolutely excellent! Everyone gave it 10 out of 10. When we do something else again in the area – we’ll definitely work together again! It was a great experience. Thank you!”
